which shivers
as a noise
a mosquito
buzzing in the
ear to make a
sustained pain
echo the rest
of all living
moments
shaking & quaking
with those
same inviting
eyes of nights
ago bringing a
new experience
of horror to
all that remains
a defeated lover
who can’t remember
just exactly how
it all had started,
only how desperate &
self-destructive
they had to be to
do so.
