About This Poem
AUTUMN'S COLD RAIN
Autumn’s cold rain keeps us inside,
so mommy seeks while my girl hides
as we listen to toddler tunes,
stay in jammies well past noon,
and let the clock hands slowly glide.
I frost a cake, she licks the spoon,
These nesting days will end too soon,
We stack blocks while a squirrel chides
Autumn’s cold rain.
A pumpkin is carved with some pride,
Giggles are sought and frowns denied,
My silly faces she lampoons,
Books are read then we watch cartoons,
Two cuddle tight, love casts aside
Autumn’s cold rain.
