On Higher Levels: The Significance Of Shattering

I said good night,
felt your hand brush against my cheek
while you
said you needed to shatter

I understand
the significance of shattering --
light through prisms:
kaleidoscope-style

All the different patterns
many particles
many names
dispersed
around the centre
of the tube

cumulating
exactly
the same

two to the power of

         three
                     four
                              five

The Sun kisses my eyes.
I wake up to rainbow-droplets on my eyelashes;
become a walking prayer,
shattering with you --

A star above the Hex River Mountains

In broad daylight
You explode,
Crash into me
and everything turns

Springtime in winter,
green shoots along the pathway,
tickling roots, branches, boughs.
I laugh,
breathe life into the cold . . .

My footsteps become your heartbeat
my arms, your wings.
We walk in flight,
Forever
pulsating
life
into dead things

Again, I deeply love this entire series of poems. Each one is distinct from the others, able to hold its own, yet merge together wonderfully. With this second part, I always enjoyed the play on numbers, and the personal symbolic touch. All three poems in this series have very profound end-stanzas....

"pulsating life into dead things" is powerful! Togetherness at this level is a blessing!
