About This Poem
Doorway of the Mind
Dawn comes
uncolored from this
and the sun
never shines
in the abyss.
There the damned
are robbed of bliss
and shamble on
in unnumbered lists.
They forgot
the stars,
you know
and made it all
one big show,
then cast themselves
below
where nothing ever
seems to glow.
How I see them
in my mind
wall to wall
---an endless sigh.
They will never
be left to die.
There they choke
on their suicide.
I feel myself
running sometimes
from the doorway
of the mind.
Then I think
of them lumbering by,
choking on
their evil lies.
From there
I rush
to any embrace,
thinking only
of what a waste.
