Imaginary Wars of Rain

All I can do this day Is watch the pouring rain As its march beats odes of war parade And enlists an army of my imaginations As out of the window I can’t help but set the stage To watch the lives that spirals down Like an insect upon its death And on its back, more tragically than Macbeth Dramatic as it struggles Going round and round But, there is no applause for the one that drowns And the raindrops, like arrows from the sky Fell the flower soldiers in the garden As I watch them struggle, stagger to die In catapults of earth some fight on… Others accept their fate Still, try as they might no one escapes from within the garden gate And the war wages swifter and quickly As lightening spears the open air Strikes at the heart, of Orchard Apple lair Giving in, to pains in throes of overtures The wood splits and falls to nature’s blows Fells the mighty among its groves And chaos reigns sublime supreme As the thunder cries out “battle!” Is this what victory brings Alas I think not, as all I watch submit and surrender The warriors bowing to Master Sun Skies of fireball is he whose commanding here is won So, now campaign of storm has ceased And bright begins the sunny day I fling open the doors of castle and... Now at least, I am free to play

what an imagination you must have! Totally awesome, to get all that war, fighting for life and succumbing, out of a simple rainfall. Wonderful poem. Hope you have a very Happy Thanksgiving. hugs, Catie :)
