Looks Can Be Deceiving

There was a young girl whose silk skin
Was sewn up with some thread and a pin.
It would drive the men mad,
     That sleek layer she had,
Well, until she took off her silk skin.

I really liked this poem, Anne, and I can relate to it! I know all to well how looks can be deceiving. You might like my poem titled "The Real Me". Please, read it sometime. I also wanted to say thank you for placing my poem "Serenity", in 7th place in your recent contest. I am glad you thought it was deserving! :)

Cleverly written; I love the flow and rhythm. And I like how you used "silk skin" to describe a person's deceiving looks. :) ~Linda

anne, I don't know if I saw that blog of yours or not. I have to get off now and do dinner. but if I can still see what you wrote, I'll try to see. Luv, Andrea ps. the form is diminished hexaverse. You can see its form at Forms here at Soup. It tells how to do it.

Art is subjective; no one can say what art is good or bad. But this is what I have to say. I like your poem, it's short and sweet. Yet, I think you screwed up on the first two lines. Each line should express an idea or in some way add to a preceeding verse or line. The first two lines are really one long one. I think you should have broken it down. Maybe like this 'There was a young girl who had silk skin//She had it sewn up with some thread and a pin'. But this is just my opinion. Keep writing.
