About This Poem

shard and silk

shard and silk
take your turn
enter into the hue...
of a spinning urn

its ok to weep
to make a pond of salt
for when love buckles
under ice blown mountains
it may not be your fault

shard and silk
write your song in silence
stoke the mental cord
back pedal into time
far beyond when you were born

truth travels at the speed of light
catch it if you will
and if you don't, it doesn't mean
that you have failed
and are willed to die

shard and silk
in the warmth of god-driven tongues
ice mountain tastes the pond
for its ok to pass gracefully
to eat life like a wild beast
to bloom to wilt
on the gilded rose of time

Anthony, I love the imagery of your poem and now I see that you only asked one to three poems in your contest. For some reason I had been thinking it HAD to be three. I hope your contest is a big success. Andrea
