IT
It caught me off my guard
And crept up while I slept,
When I awoke at dawn
Through the window it slowly went.
It never said a word to me
Or whispered in my ear,
But it did do one thing,
To my eyes it brought a tear.
I knew one day it would arrive
But I didn't know how fast,
I was not prepared for it
And hoped it wouldn't last.
I wondered why it came at all
What was its master plan?
To catch me unaware
Not caring who I am.
The next night it arrived again
But this time it didn't go,
It over took my body
And to God it sent my soul....
