About This Poem
The Long Drop
Where were you? on that roller coaster night of youth
When I abseiled through my dreams. Hurtling down a
Vortex, as stars raced along, stopped and stared then sped on to
Galaxies new.
Where were you? When that black hole pulled my emotions inside
Out, twisted my mind until tears of blood floated in a black veil.
From the nadir of desperation to a zenith of hope. Eyes filled with
A nebula of love.
Where were you? As the trees started to die and life turned bittersweet
Enveloping me in a sheet of pearlescent skin reflecting a feeling of despair.
The highs and lows are just steps of a long staircase called life! Escher
Couldn‘t die!
Finally you are here! To share these journeys, these emotions. To fall with me,
Never to be caught. Spiralling through life, bouncing off my east, your west.
A damaged mind hurts, love hurts, pain hurts, life hurts…the long drop has
Become a short step.
