"WAKE UP LAZY!" shouts that voice so familiar,
Sleepy eyed and subdued I open to door.
SPLASH! My body dripping wet with cold water
" Mom he has done it again", I scream
Hard to believe but he is my older brother!
Tall, strong and fair, he is the only one.
"Let’s go for a drive"; his invite holds suspense,
He is unusually quiet and thoughtful,
Smiling at my talk, his eyes seem distant.
Glances often, like he is trying to remember!
The beach it is this time, my favorite
I run around, being the little girl that I am
He holds my hand and points to the horizon
I follow his finger and see the setting sun...
I wake up…with a jolt…in tears!!
That setting sun took him to the bottom of the ocean.
He faded away soon leaving behind a past.
I was grieving but for the future we lost,
My mornings these days are dry, so is my life
Tall, strong and fair, he was the only one…
