About This Poem

Delicious Terror

From out of the dark a moaning cry Shadow moved then seemed to fly Ghostly forms in shades of white Harbingers of an October night Made no sound, my throat so dry The ghouls their mischief to apply Came toward me with eerie sigh My heart was gripped with fright From out of the dark..... Black, black the lowering sky Beckoning gestures get no reply Silently screaming at the sight Shut my eyes with all my might Why this delicious terror, why? From out of the dark.....
