Evasive Evolution

Honesty, behind a wall.
Belief in something, but not at all.
The truth is there, but never seen.
Things you say, but never mean.

Reality is just a lie.
Fame and fortune you try to buy.
Soon no one will be able to pay.
The price it costs when some get thier way.

A world beyond an innocent age.
Where wisdom's lost it's wise old sage.
A feast of fools for devils prey.
The signs are there, what do they say?

Survival instincts win the fight.
To help you get through one more night.
But in the morning, what comes to light.
We know inside, just can't be right.

The evil's loosed upon the land.
No Wayne or Eastwood to take a stand.
Just throw the football and act a fool.
Because in these times, nobody's cool. Wo!

But this poem is cool !! The will to survive is within us all. Sometimes I think we look through dark glasses and can't see all that reality has to offer. We see the bad and forget to see the good. Thought provoking poem !

Robert Johnson,,,,I do declare..this is the grand poem u wrote beneath Hinshaw's poem on Jimmy Carter!! I loved it..******.Beer makes me burp. On a hot summer slurp. The first one goes fast. Wasn't meant to last. I knew a man who liked a beer float. Don't look at me, I'm just making a note. God rest his soul, he died of diabete's. I guess he should of just eaten his wheaties.****written by Robt Johnson!! Excellent!

Yes, you have not gone over the limit of 20 lines, Robert, and it's rhymed, just like the contest asks. All you have to do is make it seem like the wall is talking. Like these are the words of the wall, and you would have an entry to that contest! (thanks for your comments today). andrea
