Tomorrow's time will carry the day,
A faster pace, an easier way.
Moments close upon my mind,
My deepest thoughts are hard to find.
To create in the absence of your love
Is to set to flight a wingless dove.
To be without you leaves me blind,
My deepest thoughts are harder to find.
Expression finds a difficult road,
The burden is too heavy a load,
Remembering all I've left behind,
Recalling all those precious times.
A narrow stream meanders it's course
Traveling far from its' original source.
So easy we fall prey to our minds,
My deepest thoughts are hardest to find.

Ironically, I was writing about not being able to write poetry because I was in the Army far away from my fiancé and we were close to celebrating our first date which was 3 years before on Valentine's day 1969, so I mailed these thoughts to her.
