About This Poem

Penguins

Diving penguins in tuxedos
Speed through water like torpedoes
Dressed to kill in formal ware
That insulates from frigid air
They store up fat from fish they eat
That helps maintain their body heat
Keeps their organs all from freezing
Keeps their beating heart from seizing
These stately birds don't need to fly
They have a bountiful supply
Of fish in oceans where they thrive
Are suited to swim, to hunt, to dive

Love this....your gift of rhyme is wonderful. No forcing or awkward lines. The imagery is so perfect. Animals are my favorite people and I love their antics. Thanks for a cheery start to my day!
