About This Poem

Autumn

When sunlit days
become lost in shade,
and all that was verdant
becomes windswept jade,
withering leaves become
gold and brown,
summer’s reign at last,
has lost her crown!

harry, when I typed in my name with word footles, it brought me to number 15, so I figured those must have been the last ones and that's why I labeled 16 for my last footles post. I am sure I have many more stored away, but right now I can only find five more that I need to post from my personal files. Were you here a long time ago when Brian did a footle contest and introduced us to that form. I really had fun with them. I was on a car trip 2 years ago and did oodles of them that day!!!

I am seeing so many poets have done constanzas now but am too afraid to glimpse the titles and have them stay in my mind while I try to stay impartial. YIKES it is so hard!!

oh, and Bonhomie means good naturedness. The sun is a jolly fellow beaming down on us and gifting us with "good natured-ness" or affability. It was in my rhyming dictionary when I was looking for rhymes on that poem. What would I do without my rhyming dictionary?
