A Heart's Sorrow

I'll pretend I'm okay,
No more tears have fallen,
But I still miss everything,
Your touch, your kiss, your love.
This is a cycle,
You fall for her tricks,
She brings you to your knees,
When will you finally see?
I guess I'm okay,
Have to accept the fact,
You're gone, she stole away
The heart I once thought you had.
They tell me to
Be strong, don't let it
Get to me, let it go, but I can't
Believe that you walked away so soon.
What really hurts
Is how you got over me
So fast, so quick, in just a blink,
And then you were gone, back to her.
I said I'd let go
If you told me to but
Ever since you did I found
That I'm sorry, I can't keep my promise.
Some days I think
I'll never get over this
But each day it seems it
Gets easier and easier to smile.
Still though, I don't
Know how I'm supposed
To just leave it all behind, how
Do I let go of the happy bliss?
Those nights you promised me
You'd never let go of me,
You would be there forever;
Whatever happened to
Loving me?
You held my hand,
Kissed my lips,
Dried the tears I cried,
But where are you now?
Brokenhearted.
Everyone told you so,
But you refused to listen.
I would have done
Anything to see you again,
To hold you within my arms,
To hear your heart beating
In my ear, feel your arms
Around me and finally
Feel safe again.
But I guess I need
To find my own way,
Have to let this become
Just a memory even though
All I can see is you when
I close my eyes, all I feel is you
All around me.......
