in due silence

In due silence
the cars outside will cease
to exist
and the trees will no longer
tap messages on
my window.

In due silence
my paper
will become
words
and the words
will become
meaning
until all that is meant
is asleep.

In due silence
my heart will still from
chasing it's tail
and imagining
it will be
caught.

and I sit here
while the refrigerator
hums
and the furnace pipes
creak
and the trees are still
tap, tap, tapping
to me.

Once for
I love you
Two for
I can't
Three for
move on
and four
I forget.

In due silence I will love you
like a raindrop spilling
from a cloudy sky
to land on your
umbrella.

tap.

Good day Benjamin! You've been on my list of favorite poets since..well, 2009.:) Today I checked to see if you were still writing. You definitly have your own style, and it is one I enjoy very much. Do you still write, Benjamin? Best wishes to you and yours, Mikki
