About This Poem
AURORA'S DELIGHT
Aurora wears a sheer brocade on sight
Drawing sky’s curtain with morning delight,
Cool fragrance of orchids floats in the air
While pipers tweet waxed melodies, to share.
Praying serenely for calmer retreat
Tiptoes mark dainty imprints, beams from feet;
As kitchen mildly breathes like fresh dawn’s rise
Cool whistling of kettle rouses misty eyes.
On glazed halls are still pictures framed around
Faces of loved ones beaming through the ground,
I savor their hasty leave, a heaven’s touch
While cuddled moments whiff, fashioned as such.
Yet in the hour when sun’s landscape dwells
My time alone releases inner spells,
When doilies, tea, and journals set me free
To daylight-waltz among groves’ fiddling trees.
