PASSIONFRUIT

Virginia has yet to taste passionfruit,
Though its flesh tempts her with paradise,
Its skin is strange, she fears its long root,
Wickedness surely lies in each juicy slice.

Though its flesh tempts her with paradise
while thoughts of pleasure build within,
Wickedness surely lies in each juicy slice
so she ignores the succulence of sin.

While thoughts of pleasure build within,
Desire is hid for the sweet and wild,
So she ignores the succulence of sin,
Almost a woman, no longer a child.

Desire is hid for the sweet and wild,
Its skin is strange, she fears its long root,
Almost a woman, no longer a child,
Virginia has yet to taste passionfruit

For our Sage and Enigma, Debbie Guzzi, whose poem Pocketed Persimmons inspired this.

Kooks, for you, Bet ;-)
