FLAVOR OF DUSK

FLAVOR    OF    DUSK

Comes the dusk -- a bittersweet mystery:
Sweet flavor of its cold-salted blade of disappointment.
Disappointing, disappearing light where do you go?
Oh, go from me, shiver of atavistic fear,
For I fear the sharp cuts darkness’s return may bring;
Though it brings your arms and tender caress.
Caress me now, O last sweet rays of sun !
My sun, return to me, my beautiful fading light:
Light my path and show me hope for the good.
Goodnight. But then good morrow and we wake. *
Oh, wake this night my strength, and stir joy -
For joy in the morning comes. **

    KC.. just wondering if you wore your glasses when you wrote this, lol.. can't find the link between these 2 lines: Comes the dusk -- a bittersweet MYSTERY:/ Sweet flavor of its cold-salted blade of disappointment./.. or am i the one who needs glasses?.. good luck!..:) huggs!

    Sydney, FAB! Stole a moment and read this. So glad I did. Enjoyable read. Though I don't think it necessary for contest, a wreath can come full form, circular, hence its name. You could end the first line... bittersweet and comely, so the last line connects to the first... but I like it so much as is. Nette's door is always open ;-) Hope to see this high up that winners list! Hugs, Cyndi
