Woodland Path

Fae circles of mushrooms
Lanky yellow toadstools
Firm jelly tot larvae
Feed from rich stagnant pools.
Fungal disks cling with wanton
To the grey trunks of trees
Cricket strums join to bird song
Sending messages of peace.

Lambent beams break through foliage
Gradient tones tint the scene
Yellow, purple, and whites
showcased by backgrounds of green.
Fractured rock nests bright flora
Compost mats engage moss
A place of breach and survival.
Nature's gain, (one might say)
is the product of loss.

I shudder to think how many stray cats live in our neighborhood. We sometimes have 9 for breakfast on the porch, but there are new ones turning up all the time. They live under houses, under porches, in hollow logs. An adorable long hair tiger cat, half grown turned up on the steps, reluctant to come on the porch. There are probably 3 or 4 more living under the house next door. Aint nature grand. Love, daver

I want to stroll this path, barefoot and feel that wet green moss between my toes. I also - before such a venture - want to lose about 50 years. This poem would give me a fuzzy feeling on my teeth, that is if I had any teeth. Love, daver

Could very well be a place where fairies hold their sweet reveries. Reminds me of what I see when out for my walks.

Lovely, lovely - images dance in my head. I love mushrooms, not to injest...just the fae quality of their independent nature. Great stuff!! ps...Granny was Irish/North American Indian, so we love the lore...

Loved this nocturnal image of fairy lore- It reminded me of the fairy queen of Shakespeare's mid summer nights dream - lovely - I did a painting of this image from an old master painting but changed the character into a bear fairy . I will try and post it if I can work out how to. Love and blessings, bren : )

Life depends on other life. I like the images of a forest. I live in NYC but try to get away a few times a year to see and walk in forests. Peace & Love Matthew Anish

the circle ring has figures svelte, faerie forms here walk in stealth, the inner light reveals the wealth, such beauty of the night, perceived by inner sight, these tiniest of mites, a picture card is dealt... re: 'Woodland Path' Michelle Mac Donald Don Johnson
