Fascinating write Joann; you take me through darkness then find the light. So subtle the transition and the imagery is exceptional. Luv, Elizabeth

Love the idea of taking a monumental geographical formation and painting it in mythological terms. Good Job Joann!

Great poem, but the turning point does not work that well for me. Maybe a different word(s) to mirror Hell/Light? I know of the area and it is beautifully described. Your reference to the hole at Antarctica which is supposed to lead to a world under the world, has long been the speculation of a certain group of people and there is even photographic evidence to support this theory. Mount Erebus was, also, the site where the plane went down, with all lives lost (late last century). A good write, Joann. Good luck in the competition. Love, Suzette

Wow! What a ride! Two opposing hexaverse poems pitting light against dark... Mysterious and dangerous shrinking down to one word, then rising slowly back up to a glorious, healing ending...can't do it much better than that! Going DIRECTLY to favorites - Tim
