About This Poem

Insanity or Death

Insanity or Death

Life begins with insanity~~
~Your soul is kicking and screaming,

Ready to exit with the touch of human hands.
Insanity rides on a gallant stallion ready to pant.
Hides in the mind mourning its captive soul.
Ready to breach over holding its breath.
Projecting in and out without a guide.
Bites away at the fist, enchants for freedom.
From the lips……….....
Taking length against a world of dilemmas,
Contrasting to a never happy end.
The epidermis covers every wall of insanity.

To live, to eat, and to suffocate it determination without air.
Dramatically hallucination against its will of no wells.
Until it realizes it can drink without water.

No further needs a slumber.
The mind-bends and unfolds to ordinary jolts,
when left to human consummation.
Insincerely bidding and cutting to die in the sleep.
Is how it pleads!

Graves where dreams have no mean.
Caves where goodness can be redeem.
A temple of misguided fortune.
All respect lost to this infection,
The patients’ weight distracted from an antidote.

Madness begins too finds admiration that makes catastrophe go on and on.
Psychosis of the mind and mockeries of time will never be gone
Dictating in everything wrong,
Layers of cramped bricks, level the isolation.

Death drags its feet off into this infinite helix world.
A source of light breeding out of darkness.

"Sanity is no friend of mine!"
Insanity is earth herself,

Where there is life, there is reason,
Where there is reason, there is madness,
Where there is madness, there you are,
Feeling nothing………………...
Lost in darkness................

~Your soul is kicking and screaming
Life ends with death~~

The crazy ones are always talented and the "normal" ones live uninteresting mundane lives. Waylon Jennings sang "I've always been crazy but it kept me from going insane."

I like the insanity. And this poem is filled with wisdom, and so well described. The ending was chilling. You are left to the nothing...which can mean, to me, everything. Truly fantastic poem, PD!!!!! Always, Laura

You epidermis is showing, lol. Sorry I couldn't resist the corny remark. Lost in darkness, I can't help but love that. I think I've tried to start about 10,000 poems with that, maybe I'm exaggerating it's probably only 9000. I find that is my starting place, here it's toward your ending, but is experience just a vicious cycle of life/death ideas, until we're actually dead? The psychology of a mad man jajajaja. Nice poem Linda.

For me, you're such a widely regarded as Greatest Poet my dearest friend and sister, Linda! While re-reading your work, it reminds me of some great pieces/speeches I memorized when i was young (for the competitions) like "Give me Liberty or Give me Death" and some other poems but by William Shakespeare. I will pick one or two poems of yours (Dramatic mono/verse) to memorize, too. Rate the highest for me in all your work! Million thanks! love/hugs:) LG

And in this world you will have troubles. But fear not, I have overcome this world. (Jesus) Yes, we are born of sin and insanity. Thank God for Jesus. Don't mean to bang my bible quite so much, but your poem just reminds of how grateful I am to be able to be saved in spite of ourselves. Congrats on your epic win.
