About This Poem
Amadeus the Pirate
Amadeus the pirate with his long slender neck
rescued his crew amidst a massive shipwreck
with his sharp scaly tail
he steered an enormous-sized vessel
with his dinosaur height
he could wade at sea level
his carnivorous teeth
were the first things you saw
his grinning incisors
the sharpest swords of all
he could draw in his air
changing strong ocean currents
other pirates’ chests empty
…his size a deterrent
with an effortless sweep
capturing all the sea’s loot
a Caribbean superhero
in a prehistoric green suit!
