ONCE
Once when the stars shined in the evening skies
Once, when the fire raged in your seductive eyes
Life was never given into compromise
You touched my hand
Once, when our hearts were filled with wonder
Once, when the world could not pull us under
Flashes of lightning and all the thunder
Were at our command
Once, when we sailed the open sea
Once, when our hearts and minds were free
Leaving all that love could ever be
Buried in the sand
