Emotional Death

You took advantage of my feelings
As if they never mattered
Knocking me down with each of your lies
Leaving my emotions bruised and battered
You knew how I felt about you
Yet your lies showed you didn't care
I had no idea that being with you
I had to constantly share
In my face, fate had us together
Behind my back, it was you and her
I thought we had a real friendship
Now I'm unsure at how I was so sure
The trust you earned is forever broken
Losing sleep because so is my heart
In some way, I thought we'd always be
But now, this is the time where I must part
Tears no more because I'm all cried out
Wondering why I'm so easily betrayed
Full of doubt and lead by pain
A bitter woman his actions have made
Tired of believing in liars
Whose truths come across as real
Words doused in harsh Novacane
My emotions are numb and I can't feel
I don't want to give up on love
But it seems like my only choice
Love hates me and I don't know why
There's nothing to say; I have no voice
I hope you had your fun with me
Destroying me with every single lie
I hope you take much pride in
Watching the last of my innocence die.
