'Youth Day'

Y - yesterday, we had this bright future
O - owned by us
U - under African Skies
T - they promised us the world, in
H - hindsight it was never theirs to promise

D - daily grace are attained from God
A - and that is the only surety in a world where
Y - young people are still being used as pawns

In South Africa, we celebrate Youth Day every year on 16 June. It commemorates a pivotal point in our history 16 June 1976 in the fight against apartheid.

It was never theirs to give! Exactly and that is why so many promises go unfulfilled. The pseudo givers boldly promise to give what is not theirs to give in a self absorbed attempt to get what they themsleves want by fooling those who hear it into believing it can be done. .I hate it when you get me to thinking so early in the morning Wilma! My poor little brain! love your poem though,

Hullo Wilma. A strong dedication to all of the students who stood up against apartheid....and for all those gunned down on that particular day. Yes, ugly things happened in SA. Unfortunately, up here in Canada, there are still First Nations people who live under apartheid; our government likes to call it something else in the media before attempting to sweep it under the carpet.

..."This Is A Very Beautiful Poem A The Light Of Truth, Dear Beautiful & Precious Wilma * Betwixt The Frailties Of Flesh & The Darker Powers In Force, Tis Has Always Been Here In This Place & Age Of Reason; These Exploitations & Subjugations & Manipulations &, Well, A Whole Lot Of 'Ations' *.* But, If One Cannot See, Then, What Else Could One Expect & Or There Be ? ... Have I Mentioned How Very Beautiful 'You Are ... Luv,'" Tristen :)
