Forsaken

alas', for thou art the fairest
the most beautiful in all the land
surely suitors line thine kingdom
in hopes to gain thy hand

what chance have I
me, a lowly slave
to behold such a love
marks an early grave

for without thou
my soul is already dead
such a fair price for love
to relinquish thy head

doest' the guillotine awaits
to spill my final thought
dungeons shall bear thy name
as chains echo, from a love naught

having been bound unto love itself
thou heart can surely see
what thy kingdom has forsaken
ye Gods have bestowed to me........

Shakespearean style love poem
