I can’t remember why,
But all I could muster up,
Was Dale standing there,
With that menacing smile of his,
And the black soot on his hands,
And that horrid burnt smell,
That seemed to radiate off him.
I don’t exactly know how I met him,
We just happened upon one another,
Just a little after my surgery,
When I was but five of age,
I knew he was bad news,
From the moment i met him,
But soon enough,
We were inseparable.
Everything was okay the first year,
But as Dale grew older,
So did his actions change,
First it was the stealing,
Then beating animals to death,
He always wore that grin,
Barring those weird jagged teeth of his.
But one day he went overboard,
And did the most unforgivable thing,
He set fires in my house,
When I wasn't home,
I was the only one to escape,
My family wasn’t so lucky,
Now I sit in this room,
With only Dale to talk to,
But he talks a lot more these days,
Or more like nods,
Now he can’t wreak anymore havoc,
Because these walls confine him.
But you know something,
Its rather ironic you see,
That I have to pay for his actions,
When he was the one who was insane,
And killed my parents and sister.
All in all,
The fact remains still remains,
That me and Dale,
Are one in the same.
