Thank you to all who have left such kind comments. I did study in Rome in the summer of 1969 and remember touring the coliseum. Also I visited the gladiator museum in York (England) and saw the various equipment that has been found there.

It's so cool that I can recognize your terms from when I researched all this out myself. You did an outstanding job using first person (something I chose not to do). But it's more what the judge wanted so that is a bonus for you. Isn't it horrible that the average gladiator died before 25? what a hard life!
