Faith is like Being Blind

Faith is like being blind
Instead of using your eyes to feel
you use just your ears
When you reach out
and no one is physically there
You hear so you feel
no sign of fear
You believe what you hear
therefore, your ears can depict who's there
You listening is sharp as dart
you're surrounded by dark
When you are feeling bleak
you still feel the rays of heat
You feel the warmth sensation of love
so you try to touch
anyone you must
to help them see with their ears
listen with eyes
Looks can be deceiving
Don't you first listen before peeking?
Why not just believe first
than turn your head to look?
Wasn't it obvious your ears knew
before your eyes looked upon it?
Blind people put faith in their listening
to hope their conscience can draw lines of picturing
They count on word of sound
to tell who's the noun
and learn by rote
the name of who spoke
Faith is Hope....

Chris, this is a very interesting perspective and correlation between faith and blindness. As one who can see (as in no impairment of vision) I rarely, if ever, think about blindness but you've given me something not only to think about but also, to be thankful for the sight I take for granted. As a photographer, seeing means everything to me. Thanks for an EXCELLENT poem. Peace, Terry

Faith is blind....something we cannot see but if we're lucky enough we can feel and believe.
