The Poetess

There lives with-in, a grande dame fair,
goddess of many talents rare.
Yet, humble in her own shy way,
she weaves her words without delay, beyond compare.

You might just think she lives to write,
that poetry consumes her sight.
I see a soul that lives to love . . .
to share below and rise above, in divine light.

A beauty only few can see
is gifted in her poetry.
As dawn reveals through clouded sky
the glory of its golden eye, in majesty.

A tapestry in varied hues . . .
a rainbow painted over blues.
Her lovely words continue on.
They’ll live long after she is gone, to greet her muse.

This poem is in The Florette form created by Jan Turner

Note:
‘Since the Sumerian poet Enheduanna carved her odes to the
goddess Inanna in cuneiform tablets more than 4,500 years ago,
civilizations have expressed their most beautiful, tragic, triumphant,
and perceptive thoughts through poetry.’

The golden thread of life's tapestry does connect all of us Connie. I like to think when Einstein spoke of the string theory, that on the sub atomic level connects all things, he was speaking of life's golden thread science and God get closser togeather all the time.Enjoyed your work. Be happy; your friend Michael.

Wow, a very interesting form I never heard of. It's very light and makes a beautiful swinging rhythm. Sounds right away very neat and classic. Another masterpiece from our Connie. Than you for the note. Love, Hanitra

connie, thanks for your wonderful comment on my womankind poem. I'm so happy you like it. Do you remember it from long ago? Maybe I never showed it to you before? I'm playing catchup here at Soup but I think your trochee is the one poem I have not seen and am saving those for when I judge. I hope I like it!! Luv, Andrea

Wonderful tribute to our amazing and talented friend, Jan. Hey, connie, I recently told my friend Jack Horne about Jan's forms over at Shadowpoetry. He checked her out and used her wrapped refrain and trijan refrain, and ALSO he did MY two forms . Go see them sometime!!!

hey there, been a while...a beautiful collage of how the heart wants to express itself through the written word... enjoyed the rich content and word behavior, connie, along with mythical allusions... winning huggs!
