The Ordination a Tribute to My Father

My father was ordained of God to preach his word in
this troubled land, for Jesus he made his stand.
Many times I have heard him tell of a God that could not fail.
He taught each of us children to trust and obey for in this
world it was easy to go astray.
When my Father preached about the Savior’s love you
could feel the Holy Spirit descend from Heaven above.
Each night he would carry us all before the throne of grace
in his quiet secret place.
With tear filled eyes he seemed to make all Heaven
aware, and sometimes till dawn he would tarry there.
Humbly he walked before God and man to fulfill
God’s great command.

Is he still here preaching in the land, Lori, or gone to greener pastures? He sounds wonderful.

Oh, if there were only more of your fathers kind in these dark days. Praise God for godly parents. Very nice poem.

what a moving tribute to your father, and what a powerful testimony to God's love, grace, and mercy. Your father finished the race well. I am reminded of this verse: II Timothy 4:7 (NASB) I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith.
