Hi Chris!I have definitely missed out on reading and commenting on your poems-- this poem is just so real. I really enjoyed how you brought to life the nostalgia here. It was almost like taking a peek into the past, & I like how you wrote this in a way that is reminiscent of a children's story/rhyme (especially the "We, four... part" That last stanza was the perfect way to end this, there is just something so umm nostalgic, haunting even about blossoms falling from trees...sent you soupmail btw.

Wonderful Peter Pan like childhood memories...what a magical tree and friends with the greatest imaginations. I never knew robins made love in the air...very coolio. The entire poem is beautifully scripted and could be made into a short movie...if I could only capture my childhood in poetry as eloquently as you! Congrats...you are in a class of your own. Yes, Ruben soupmailed me that you were talking about a tree, And when I go read it again, geeez, there is the tree at the very beginning of your poem!!! how blind can I be. Yeah at 57, I am pretty much the same build as always. Just a wee bit thicker in the middle. My legs are still in great shape. I can bench press around 300 pounds with them. My mom always told me that my legs were the part of my body she thought was the best.

chris, this is amazing writing. Very classy! You would be good as a novelist, great description. It reads sincere and yet I am wondering if you made it up since I was thinking you grew up in Canada? And it mentions the savannas of Africa. So is it true or not? I love the nostalgia of four friends (or perhaps brothers and sisters?)
