I grew my dreams up in a field

i grew my dreams up in a field and waited till they turned up strong i took the one that grew the most and plucked it well before its time
i put the weed in a jar of glass to see if i could save it there the winged seeds in perfect form afraid should the wind let them fly
i left it there for just in case and gave it lustful gazes and i did not touch a single glume but fed it with potential way
though soon i lost my garden key and locked my lions and lilies away overgrown and wild and overwhelmed but the one in the glass could get no love from me
i've locked myself away since then and submitted to the bestial claim let the vines surround my arms and wonder how my flower did winter came and killed the weeds was tangled now in browning string that crumbled as i pulled away and left the landscape like a crumpled paper sheet an abandoned idea stretched before me in a plane of dying weelding scraps and clear as ice my view was direct upon the jar that held my life all the petals finally fell weary brown and hunching back i went to re-collect my prize to see it bare and the water slick and black i fell to my knees and fisted the frost though it melted beneath my heated grip frantically i dig for another stem but met only ice and exoskeleton i woke hours later or perhaps it was some years but still the sleet like a sheet befell me as i gently stirred with seeds caught in my hair and clothes i fell again into a longer sleep.
