Dark Days

It is so dark in here
Tied to this old wooden chair
Never seen the light of day
Never speak, nothing to say
Outside is like a foreign land
Could be grass, could be sand
I listen, but I can not hear
My thoughts are all I have to share
I never see beyond these walls
Never strolled into the halls
My food is brought upon a tray
No one here, no one to play
One day I hope I will be free
To roam the street, to climb the tree
But till then, I sit and wait
For God alone, will seal my fate.

Nice rhyming and flow, Glyn... this puts me in mind of Franz Kafka and his novels of alienation. Well done! Best wishes, Keith
