In This Moment

Between the hidden and the knowing
dost not the heart lead
upon heights of silent stowing
to once again reveal his creed

As streaming clouds run westward
and fain, I bequest of solemn glory
why must sin lay incurred
for truth be my story

If only to find our Sovereign Lord
calling out amid my guilt
then surely love shall be adorned
woven placidly in heavens quilt

In hymns and color I shout to thee
that wounded eyes might come to see

Hello Rick, this was such a hard contest to judge with so many gems to try to place. We both enjoyed your lush use of imagery, phrases such as silent stowing, woven placidly. The enjambment is also well done, smooth as butter. This poem spoke to me on a personal level, such a profound faith write. Reminded me of Donne. Are you familiar with his sonnets? If not give them a peek. I think you may enjoy his poetry. Congrats on the win. I hope it garnishes the attention it deserves! Smiles from Cyndi
