About This Poem

Money

Who now? In spite of money
Seeks truth in bending branches?
And skips along the perilous path
In forests filled with riches?

Said I to the toad, who blocks my path
“Does life require a fortune?”
‘It depends” said she, with thoughtful mirth
“Which song you sing on your sojourn?”

"Shall it be gay and filled with fruit
Of every delight and blush?
Or simply a tune, you picked up in school
That leaves you breathless, but flush!"

Interesting perspective about money..Money is a necessary part of life now..It takes a large sum just to have the basic needs met these days..I am glad that I chose this one to read today..Your presence at my work was uplifting..Sara
