Need for Love

A light shone through my door
Liquid from the moon above;
I stood inside my bedroom
And felt the glow of love.

Shining in the moonlight
My dreams did float and dance;
And you were captured with them
In the arms of circumstance.

In the hush of light I saw
A dream almost come true;
From out of space where voices speak
Were words for me and you.

I came back down to earth
My room seemed just the same
But emptiness had filled the space
Where once I spoke your name.

I need to tell you more than this
For my love for you goes on;
Until it reached the open door
Then the need for love was gone.

    A lovely poem that captures those special feelings that are somehow beyond comprehension, feelings that sustain us through emptiness, and through love. :)

    Some deep and moving thoughts expressed here. I'm especially delighted by the entire second verse, and the thought of being captured with someone's dreams. Beautiful - Chuck

    I feel myself sinking through the depths of emotions that flow through your verses, Elize; only to be emerging on the other side. Remarkable work, madame.

    Dear Lizzie, your words are a double sword, they are lovely and spellbinding, but oh, how they cut to the quick. Beautiful one, and yet another. The last line is exactly where it should be. Thank you so much for all your lovely comments. And I'm glad you've seen my girl, as I plan to delete that particular blog. I wanted to show off my girl, but I'm not comfortable with her picture on the internet. Miss you, but so glad to know you are happy with other creative outlets. You amaze me. Hugs, cyndi

    The last stanza is very mysterious, Liz. "From out of space where voices speak." Dreams and Love become entities, almost. I like this poem's challenge. Love, daver

    Dear Lizzie, your poem really touched my heart. Those dreams that "almost come true" can be heartbreaking when you wake up alone. My husband's been gone for decades. I still miss him, but I know he will be waiting for me at heaven's gate. Beautifully written! Love, Carolyn

    A heart with hope to fall in love. Is blessed with spirit from above. To dream the moon is yours and mine. Is as sweet as heaven on the vine. When waking to the cardboard waste. There's only gratitude for the taste. For the hope still lives within your heart. It's for each of us to play our part.
