Thanking anyone profusely doesn’t seem to be enough
What would you like me to do?
Kiss your feet
Catch hell for you
Return your underwear
Or paint your walls blue.
Ungratefulness consumes the fortunate
But hypocrites like to think otherwise
I’m the dartboard sitting next to you
“You’re ungrateful in everything you do”.
Your insecurities label me as spoilt
“Oh look at what you have:
A camera, a laptop and a car
Unappreciative is what you are”.
You think I haven’t worked for my things
You have no right to judge me
Walk a mile in my “ungrateful” shoes
And it might give you some kind of clue.
Every gift comes with strings attached
So this time, what’s the catch?
Your issues with yourself are not my problem
Everyone’s a little ungrateful
So count yourself in.
