Wizard --- A Blessed New Year

As I watch this old year slipping into the new year...
I pause to reflect.
I can not deny my feelings of being on the edge
emotionally.
But, I will not dwell on the hurt I felt as my voice
was muffled for some time.
Their plans were foiled as they tried to remove me
from their world.
The new year finds me with my coverlet draped over
me as my head rises from my pillow.
As I wake my eyes see a bright new year surrounded
by the love of family and friends.

I ejoyed your poem very much. Many times when I try to write with prechosen words, the result seems forced and unnatural. This poem is anything but. It flows and is full of emotion and meaning. Congratulations on your win.

Carol. I loved the personal reflective nature of this one. I sure would never have guessed it was yours. But then again, I remember you had some hard things in your past, so it makes sense! What did this part mean: "to remove me from their world?" Congrats in my contest with Susan as co-judge.

New year is a time to reflect on the feelings one has had during the year. The last line is very hopeful. Peace & Love Matthew Anish

I have also had the exact profoundly deep and beautiful feelings myself; especially these past couple of days! My heart is beginning to see clearly what was always there - So much joy thus, I can completely relate to your own emotions described amid this lovely verse - Merry Christmas! Love always, Tristen
