A Different Kind of Jack-in-a-Box

It’s dim and lonely inside this ornate tin box Oh, if someone would come over and pick me up off this dusty shelf I thought children were created to spend quality time with me It’s so hard to compete with the latest electronic gadgets I pods and MP3’s My Father always taught me… SIMPLICITY IS BEST Kids now days are distracted They are too busy to remember me I used to bring them so much joy… Way back in the old days Millions of kids would want to know more about me They’d giggle and belly laugh just to see me spring into action Sadly those days are past They won’t find any sirens or flashing lights on me I offer something more The more they crank me up The more their hearts will excite I am FULL OF POTENTIAL I am a Jack in-a-Box! Oh,…(excitely) I hear the footsteps of a curious child She begins to turn my shiny metal crank Winding… and… winding… and… winding I can’t wait to share my song A-r-o-u-n-d and r-o-u-n-d the w-h-o-l-e w-i-d-e w-o-r-l-d J-e-s-u-s c-a-m-e t-o s-a-v-e u-s I w-a-n-t t-o s-h-a-r-e t-h-i-s s-o-n-g i-n m-y h-e-a-r-t… P-O-P !! J-E-S-U-S L-O-V-E-S Y-O-U!! Written for Curtis Moormon's First Contest~Is Jesus in a Box~ Honored to have won 1st Place 12-6-11

The symbolism is JACK = JESUS If u read of the historical roots of a Jack-n-the-box it is quite the opposite. Jack with his boot enclosed with Satan inside. The box was NEVER meant to be opened. It was to protect the village of evil....check it out. ;) Luv-Gwendolen
