About This Poem
Search Of
Up in the north
of somewhere
as it always is
cold and lonely
a howl
blusters with snowy
whispers of
nothing
emptiness
full of
loneliness
raw
stomach pit
survival
of the bare
fittest
rippling stream
silenced by
baskin-robbin’s
freezer
didn’t expect that?
neither did
Sam McGee
when he stopped by
for thirty one
flavors
seasoned well
thought the wolves
munching his bones come spring
miners
rough necks
pipe liners
Alaska
of the heart
don’t tell me you don’t go there
often
in search of
you
