Heya nikko. A big congratulations on your win in Debbie's contest! Excellent juxtaposition here, especially the clash of bright red on white. I was going to say something about how Cardinals migrate south for the winter, but guess wot? Some of them are staying now because the weather is all messed up.

cardinals are Ohio's state bird...the male camouflage pretty well in the summer, but beware...they stick out like a sore thumb against this blanket of snow....

haha you are making me laugh silly here, Gwendolen, you're such a sweetie, please don't hold your breath though...I got churn the cream some more... I hope I can come up with a haiku as smooth as butter (haha wishful thinking!!) and thanks for the info, about those cardinals :D

nikki you need to use the articles [a,an, the] to have it make sense [snow peppers the sky] if you want to use [peppers] don't use [dusts] stick with 1 verb..now both lines are about the quality of the snow and there isn't much action and a dusty is a light snow and then you say [thick blanket] the switch to the red bird in/on the white snow is very nice..take another wack at it. uh-oh.... I see I am in trouble here... urrgh. Only 1 verb? But I can use articles (haha how ironic since I sometimes have a slew of them in my poems)...umm wack it? I shall see -- ohh, the bleeding drops of red!!! but ok I will see what I can do, thanks, Debbo--kidding, sweetie, I know you meant me as Nikko :D just me being a silly monkey yet again...O_o

It's one of the prettiest winter sights to see a cardinal against the snow. Loved the vision I see in this.
