Go

I see her down the road walking
Smiling, but there’s no bounce in her step
Thinking of her near ones, to herself talking
Wishing no one knew the secrets she kept

She’s happy and sad, glum and glad
As only a woman can be
Wonder what’s in her heart, experiences she had
Or the sadness of a rendezvous that couldn’t be

Her eyes are distant, a glint of tears
Which I wish I could change to a smile
But I know she’s going to the one’s she loves
And it will be worth her while

Go to them girl, with a heart as light
As a butterfly’s wings can be
And come back with memories and stories bright
That you can narrate till eternity

This poem has a nice feel to it. As only a woman can be... That makes me laugh.. Was this some poem that was roaming around in your head and you knew you just had to put it on paper?
