Good to get your thoughts debbie; I do admit Its a rather stark poem.." But it can be viewed like this; Jesus though part of the Godhead.." Did not shrink from becoming incarnate of the flesh, and accepting the role of a servant; and obediant even to death on the cross, he gave his life to ransom many.."

I enjoyed your comments, Joe. yes, the world is a very strange place compared to even 50 years ago! I guess a lot of things do not change though. Just think of the horrible wars we had before 1950. Maybe people have always been as greedy as they are now? I just don't know.

This is a mind probe, Joe. We can wish though for things to alway be, but as you say "Nothing ''is'' forever..!" Memories just don't cut some realities.:( Best wishes, Love, Mikki

I hear ya, Joe. In this expanding universe, that furthest galaxy is a gonna expand clear out of imagination one of these years. I guess that makes that furthest galaxy "nothing," eh. You blew my mind with this one, Joe. Love, daver

You hit it right on the nose. However I believe that many people don't see it that way. Thank you for your kind words. Harold Swiss was an intresting writer who wrote "Out of Eldridge Street" and "Ebb and Flow" - his biography in two volumes. His sermons were a little too long but he was an important figure - that is what I think, anyway. Peace & Blessings Matthew Anish

This seems to be an acceptance and a denial all at the same time. Depends on one's perspective. Love, daver

For sure, all around us, the news, the weather, our earth, all is change, some good, a lot bad from my perspective. Short, sweet and right on my friend!

LIterally this is true, Joe. Since nothing means nothing. how can it exist and last forever? If I dwell on that thought too long, I might drive myself nuts. haha. (I'm not the philosophical sort)

Ooops. Mentioned Johnny twice. The fourth verse was done by Waylon Jennings. I listen to it over and over again. Something hauntingly beautiful about it.

This topid has been on my mind a lot lately, Joe. Matter can be changed and not destroyed. Perhaps Johnny Cash said it best with "I may only be a single drop of rain; but I'll be back again." The song "Highwayman" by Cash, Willie Nelson, Kris Kristoffersen and Johnny (on youtube) gets me thinking just as your poem did. Hope you are enjoying a nice weekend! Love, Carolyn

Oie, "Nothing "is" Forever", Joe, it would be as dull a life, as in the movie, "Groundhog Day". Invariable situations can be altered if one chooses to make concessions. Been there Joe; the most damaging part can come from the so called well wishers.:( Oh, we need support but should be wary of control. Best to you all! Love, Mikki
