The Poets

You can stop a mechanic
And the business he's got
You could smolder his tools
You could pillage his shop

You can hold-up a ship-write
Or a sailor at sea
But you can't stop a poet
The poets are free

You can stop politicians
Make the diplomat run
You can start a petition
With the flick of your tongue

You can harry a fighter
With a blow to the knee
But you can't stop a poet
The poets are free

WE CAN stop everyone. WE outnumber them. Now poets, we are nobodies to the masses. But they need to read up, or get beat up or peed on, with our feet on their beat skeet teat. Ok...I will stop with the Marshall Mather's Maddness! Your 2nd to last line reads "But you C A N stop a poet"---did you mean "can't"? It doesn't matter. Dope poem!

Yes indeed my friend. The pen is mightier than the sword. It's the same in everything. You might be able to byully someone into fearing you but you can't control what he thinks of you. Your thoughts are always your own. great job here. God Bless, JB
