The Faces on the Sea

Endless stories can be told
Of joyful faces on the sea
When sun has cast its parting plea
A thousand years a mystery.

Adventure lurks in unknown depths;
In wondrous setting suns,
In newborn rising ones,
Contentedness is lost.

Where lies the source of beckoning
That bids our minds to go
Not a thought or care they show
When gripped with mystery.

Our minds take wings of joy;
Inspired by the faces on the sea.
For the dawn of mystery
Appears when dusk is near.
