Beaten to survive

another dying day
another black eye
one i won't forget
but what my father had said
to the end of the earth
your mother should never have given birth
my fault it is
just one more
maybe I'll be done

another dying day
another broken nose
walking silently across your door
before long i was on the floor
all was numb i couldn't feel
just the sound of a cracking rib

beside my bed
mother crying, lying on my chest
sorry he is
regret he will until the end
scars will fade
but the thoughts remain to feast
