Drifting

I have been to nearly everywhere
In the continent of North America
From places like Toronto, New York City,
To even Tijuana or Mexico City

I have had a lot of pretty women
But none of them have lasted
After the night we meet
I walk to the side of the highway

And put my thumb up in the air
Until a trucker or a bus
Pulls to the side to pick me up
And takes me to the next town or stop

I just pack the little money I have
With some of my clothes
Along with the meager belongings I own
I know it's all not much

But it's an honest way of life
If you want a life away from paying your taxes,
Buying groceries, paying off your house,
Just do what I do; go drifting
